Armeos Farm

Armeos Naxos Farm

Become a farmer for a day!

Five generations of farming

It all started 300 years ago with a land of merely 2 acres. Our ancestor, George, started with a small family dairy and a tiny vegetable garden, just enough to provide for his family. Five generations later, our farm has grown to 2000 acres and is 300 goats and sheep strong. However, we still respect nature’s ways just like George did all those years ago, and don’t force or fast-forward anything. That’s why we still produce mouth-watering vegetables and cheese.

Just like grandpa George used to do all those years ago.

Naxian Farm Experience

Our Produce

Our main product is milk. We milk our goats and sheep once or twice a day (depending on the season) and we deliver the milk to the union dairy. We also make traditional cheese by hand, the old way, but that’s mainly for friends and family. Oh, and experiences!

We also make our own house wine from our small vineyard. In the garden, there’s plenty of trees that make some tasty fruits: pommegranates, oranges, lemons, loquats, quinces, apricots, figs, and more. Next to the trees, we plant our artichokes, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, garlic, melons, watermelons and eggplants / aubergines.

Yes, a farmer’s life can be qute busy!

Naxian Farm Experience

The Experiences

Get to know the actual, traditional ways of farming life in Naxos, by taking one of our experiences. You’ll stroll around the farm and become one with nature. Depending on the experience you take, you’ll also help making traditional cheese, or you’ll prepare a full course of mediterranean meal, using nothing but the farm’s produce.

Truly a great experience, the entiousiastic guide told us alot about the cheesemaking, and different kind of cheeses. After the tour we had a nice lunch which was also nice, definitely recommended.

Loved this experience and getting to understand the life and history of local farmers! A highlight of our time in Naxos. Very very well worth the time and money.

Warm and welcoming. Had the farm visit and brunch. Food was very good and local, fun to see the animals and the garden. The sheepdog/dogsheep (sheep that thinks its a dog) was a star. Definitely recommend.
